These cold winter months are tough for hardcore motocross fans, as there is really not too much going on. November is going to be a welcome change though – seven high-profile events will be run across the world. The events cover so much of the globe that it is inevitable that fans will forget about some of them, so here are some details that are worth bearing in mind.

November 08/09

Paris SX (La Défense Arena): The Supercross de Paris has returned to prominence in the last two years, as the event moved back to the centre of Paris (twenty minutes from the Eiffel Tower to be exact) and into a stadium that creates a better atmosphere than Paris-Lille did. The event – run over Saturday and Sunday – will be particularly good this time around as Dylan Ferrandis, Joey Savatgy, Chad Reed, Jeremy Martin, Zach Osborne, Justin Hill and Malcolm Stewart will all be in attendance. That is quite the line-up!

EICMA SX (Fiera Milano Exhibition Centre): It is shocking that EICMA is not on the radar of most motocross fans outside of Italy. It is a huge exhibition show that consists of ninety percent of brands within the sport, as well as stars like Jeffrey Herlings and Antonio Cairoli who are there for signings and whatnot. That week-long event wraps up with an outdoor supercross. There are not too many heavy hitters there, because they are at the other three events that are listed here, but it is still a good time.

Stuttgart SX (Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle Arena): There are countless supercross races that are held over in Germany at this time, but Stuttgart may have the highest profile. Stuttgart effectively kicks the ADAC SX Cup into life and there is a certain level of excitement that comes along with that. Mike Alessi, Tyler Bowers, Matt Goerke and John Short headline the SX1 entry list. The best part about this race is that there tends to be a high-quality live stream…

Tampere SX (Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre): The Tampere Supercross has been running for a few years now and actually found its spot within the industry. The event will never compete with Paris nor is it going to gain the following that Geneva has. However, it meets the needs of the Northern European market perfectly and welcomes countless fans from that region who cannot make the jaunt into mainland Europe. Americans like Cade Clason and Alex Ray will be in attendance this year.

November 15/16

S-X Open Auckland (Mt. Smart International): The promoters of the AUS-X Open event experienced a lot of success in Australia, so they expanded and started a second event in New Zealand. The event, in just its second season, will play host to Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, Joey Savatgy, Justin Brayton and more. There is a risk of the race being a mudder – it is held in an open-air stadium – but even that cannot spoil the thing. Last year is a perfect example of that.

November 29/30

AUS-X Open Melbourne (Marvel Stadium): The AUS-X Open is leaving Sydney! In a bold move, the race is leaving Sydney for the first time and will be held in the very impressive Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. It is unknown if the track will have some of the same unique characteristics it possessed in Sydney, like running in the tunnels under the seats, so there is some intrigue here. Joey Savatgy, Jason Anderson, Justin Brayton, Ricky Carmichael and more will be there.

Chemnitz SX (Messe Chemnitz): Another German event. Chemnitz is not as popular as the aforementioned Stuttgart race, but it will be a lot of the same. Although it is labelled as supercross, it is more like arenacross. It is a tight track but there are some fairly long rhythms that keep things interesting. The ADAC SX Cup races are actually known for prompting chaos and unexpected results. Riders like Tyler Bowers, Matt Goerke and more will also race here.
